Azeem Azhar has spent three decades at the frontier of technology — as an entrepreneur who built and sold companies, as an investor who has backed more than 50 technology ventures, and as an analyst whose original research has shaped how leaders understand the AI transition.
His 2021 book, Exponential: How Accelerating Technology Is Leaving Us Behind and What to Do About It, was published in 20 languages and became a framework for understanding the structural dynamics of the AI era. It was named a book of the year by the Financial Times, Forbes and MIT Technology Review.
Azeem founded Exponential View in 2015 as a synthesis of his research across technology, economics and society. It now reaches more than 600,000 readers each week and is consistently ranked among the most influential newsletters in technology and business strategy.
He is an affiliate researcher at Stanford HAI (Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence), where he contributes to research on the economic and social implications of AI. He is also affiliated with the Oxford Said Business School and has taught executive education at Harvard Business School.
Azeem has advised governments on AI policy in the UK, EU, and internationally. He has appeared before parliamentary committees, briefed national security councils, and contributed to major international frameworks on AI governance.
He speaks to audiences of senior executives, boards, and policymakers across 40+ countries. His work is characterised by analytical rigour, long-term thinking, and the conviction that understanding technology requires understanding the systems in which it operates.
